Steven N. Weisbart is an Economist at the Insurance Information Institute. Before joining the I.I.I. in 2005, Steve worked for nearly 27 years at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association - College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF), the financial services company whose major products are annuities for colleges and universities and their employees. At TIAA-CREF, Steve spent most of his time managing a division that created and produced explanatory and informational materials about anuities, insurance, retirement, and related topics. Before TIAA-CREF, Steve was Associate Professor of Insurance and Risk Management at the College of Business Administration, Georgia State University. Steve has a Ph.D. in Business and Applied Economics and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an A.B. in English from Cornell University. He also holds the CLU professional designation.
